Acceptable use policy

Updated · 2026-05-12draft — review required

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) lists conduct, content, and technical behavior that is not allowed on SOUQ.GG. It applies to everyone — Buyers, Sellers, anonymous visitors, integrators, and automated agents — and supplements the Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited content

#

You may not list, upload, or distribute content that:

  • Is pirated, stolen, or otherwise unlawfully obtained.
  • Infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other right.
  • Contains malware, spyware, surveillance tooling, rootkits, or destructive code.
  • Sells exploits, credentials, hacking-as-a-service, or attack infrastructure.
  • Sells regulated goods or services without proper authorization (firearms, controlled substances, medical advice, gambling, financial advice, etc.).
  • Sexualizes minors or depicts non-consensual sexual content.
  • Promotes violence, terrorism, self-harm, or the persecution of any group.
  • Contains hate speech or content that dehumanizes a person or group based on protected characteristics.
  • Is misleading, deceptive, or constitutes fraud, including counterfeit certificates, fake reviews, fake credentials, or impersonation.
  • Distributes personal information (doxing) or private data without consent.
  • Otherwise violates applicable law in the jurisdictions where you make it available.

2. Examples by category

#

These are illustrative, not exhaustive. When in doubt, ask legal@souq.gg.

  • Templates & docs: resold proprietary corporate documents, NDAs from a former employer, copies of paid courses you do not own.
  • Code: license-incompatible repackagings of GPL/AGPL code as proprietary; cracking tools; license-key generators.
  • Prompts & AI assets: prompt packs marketed for sanctioned tasks (election manipulation, mass harassment, automated abuse) or that bundle stolen model weights.
  • Datasets: personal data scraped from individuals without lawful basis; datasets of children’s data; biometric datasets without consent.
  • Courses: instruction on illegal activity, fraud, or self-harm; mass-marketed credential dumps.

3. Prohibited behavior

#
  • Harassment, threats, or abuse directed at other users or staff.
  • Impersonating any person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation.
  • Coordinating brigading, review manipulation, fake upvote campaigns, or astroturfing.
  • Manipulating purchases (wash trades, fee evasion, refund abuse).
  • Spam, unsolicited promotional content, or repeated low-quality submissions.
  • Bypassing or attempting to bypass authentication, paywalls, payouts, rate limits, license-key checks, or download throttles.
  • Posing as a Buyer in a Seller’s reviews, or vice versa, to manipulate ratings.

4. Security and infrastructure

#
  • Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without prior written permission.
  • Do not interfere with or disrupt servers, networks, or other users.
  • Do not attempt to access accounts, content, or systems that you are not authorized to access.
  • Do not deploy crawlers, scrapers, or automated agents that ignore robots.txt or rate limits.
  • Responsible disclosure: report suspected vulnerabilities to security@souq.gg. Do not exploit them. We do not currently run a paid bug bounty but acknowledge meaningful reports publicly with consent.

5. API and rate-limit norms

#

Our public and authenticated APIs are governed by published rate limits. Default norms are:

  • Unauthenticated catalog endpoints: 60 requests per minute per IP.
  • Authenticated user endpoints: 300 requests per minute per user.
  • Bulk export and reporting endpoints: 10 requests per minute per user.
  • Webhook deliveries: best effort, with exponential backoff retries on 5xx.

Integrations that consistently exceed these norms must coordinate with us in advance. Burst traffic with a credible explanation (such as launch day) will be considered case-by-case.

6. Automation and AI agents

#

Automated agents (including AI agents) may use the Service through our documented APIs subject to posted rate limits. Agents must:

  • Identify themselves with a stable User-Agent and (where required) an API key.
  • Respect rate limits and back off on errors using exponential backoff.
  • Not impersonate humans in places where humans are expected (reviews, direct messages, comments).
  • Disclose AI authorship where the surface requires (such as the AI-generated label on relevant Listings).
  • Comply with all other parts of this AUP.

7. AI training-data use

#

You may not scrape or otherwise extract Listings, Product files, or User Content from SOUQ.GG to train machine-learning models unless the Seller has explicitly granted that right in the Listing license. Internal product features that use AI on your own data (such as a Seller’s own listing summarizer) are permitted within the bounds of these Terms.

8. Multiple-account rules

#

You may operate one personal Account. Sellers may additionally maintain one Seller Account per legal entity. Operating undisclosed multi-accounts to circumvent suspensions, evade fees, manipulate reviews, or fraudulently bypass limits is prohibited and may result in termination of all associated Accounts.

9. SEO, cloaking, and ranking abuse

#
  • Do not stuff irrelevant keywords or hidden text into Listings.
  • Do not show search engines content different from what users see (cloaking).
  • Do not buy or exchange reviews, upvotes, or follows.
  • Do not exploit ranking quirks at scale; we may rebalance rankings or remove offending Listings.

10. Intellectual property

#

Only post content you have the right to post. Sellers must own or be licensed to distribute the digital goods they list, including the right to grant the license advertised to Buyers. Copyright complaints are handled under the DMCA / Copyright Policy.

11. Elections, civic integrity, misinformation

#

We prohibit content and conduct that meaningfully undermines elections or civic integrity. This includes coordinated disinformation campaigns, targeted voter-suppression content, fraudulent claims about voting procedures, and generative-AI deepfakes of political candidates without prominent disclosure. We may remove such content and restrict the related Accounts.

12. Identity-verification triggers

#

We may require additional identity verification (such as government ID, address verification, or business documents) in cases including:

  • Sellers crossing payout thresholds set by Stripe Connect or applicable law.
  • Accounts flagged for fraud, duplicate signup, or sanctions risk.
  • Accounts that handle regulated content (where allowed) or large volumes of buyer data.
  • Requests from law-enforcement that we are required to comply with.

13. Reporting violations

#

To report content or conduct that violates this AUP, contact abuse@souq.gg with a description of the issue, links or product slugs, and any supporting evidence. We may follow up for additional information. For immediate, time-critical risks (such as active malware in a downloadable file), please also email security@souq.gg.

14. Enforcement actions

#

We may take any action we consider appropriate, including:

  • Removing content or de-listing a Product.
  • Pausing or freezing balances and payouts.
  • Suspending or terminating Accounts.
  • Reversing Orders and issuing refunds to affected Buyers.
  • Restricting specific features (such as posting reviews) for a defined period.
  • Cooperating with law enforcement and providing records pursuant to lawful process.

We may act with or without notice depending on severity and risk. Enforcement decisions are made in our reasonable discretion and do not waive other remedies.

15. Appeals

#

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by replying to the notification email or by writing to legal@souq.gg within 30 days of the action. Provide your Account information and the basis for your appeal. We will respond within 10 business days. We may pause or reverse the action while the appeal is reviewed if doing so will not increase risk to other users.
